AR & Virtual Try-On Content Production

AR that works on an actual phone

AR is a delivery constraint before it is a creative one. The asset has to be accurate, small and correctly formatted, or the experience simply does not load.

  • AR-ready optimisation
  • glTF and USDZ delivery
  • Try-on assets

What this covers

An AR asset is a 3D model with a budget. Polygon count, texture size and file weight all decide whether it loads on a mid-range phone on mobile data — and an AR experience that does not load is worse than no AR button at all.

Virtual try-on adds platform constraints on top: each platform has its own requirements for what it will accept and which categories it supports well, and several categories are not well served yet.

StaffCloud optimises models for AR delivery, produces try-on assets to the platform requirements you are targeting, and will tell you plainly where the technology does not yet do what a brief assumes.

What the team does

AR asset optimisation

Polygon and texture budgets managed so the asset loads on real devices and real connections rather than on a design workstation.

Format delivery

glTF and USDZ produced correctly for web and native AR, which is where a surprising number of AR projects actually fail.

Virtual try-on assets

Assets produced to the requirements of the try-on platform you are targeting, with its category limits stated up front.

Device testing

Assets checked on real devices across a range, because the failures are device- and connection-specific.

Platform integration support

Delivery into Shopify AR, web viewers and social AR formats, working with your developer where code is involved.

Scale and placement accuracy

Real-world scale set correctly, since the main practical value of product AR is answering whether it fits.

How the engagement runs

  1. 01

    Feasibility

Whether AR or try-on genuinely serves your category and what the target platforms support. Sometimes the honest answer is not yet.

  2. 02

    Asset preparation

Models optimised to the budget the target platforms and devices impose.

  3. 03

    Testing

Real-device testing across a representative range, including mid-range hardware and slow connections.

  4. 04

    Delivery and integration

Assets delivered in the right formats, with integration support alongside your developer.

What AR is actually good for

Answering "will it fit and how big is it" — which is a returns question, not a novelty one.

  • Assets that load on a mid-range phone
  • Real-world scale that makes the feature useful rather than decorative
  • An honest read on whether your category is ready for it

Questions buyers ask

The things worth knowing before the first call.

Not sure this is the right scope?

Describe the workload in a sentence and we will point you at the right team — or tell you honestly if it is not something we should take on.

Ask us

The mechanism is plausible — showing real scale and fit before purchase — and there is industry evidence for some categories.

StaffCloud will not attach a number to your catalogue that we have not measured on it. If returns reduction is the business case, the honest approach is to measure it on a subset of your range and let the result decide how far to take it.

Furniture, homeware and anything where the real question is whether it fits the space.

Try-on for apparel is harder and more constrained by platform than most briefs assume. StaffCloud will tell you where your category sits before you invest, because the gap between the categories that work well now and the ones that do not is wide.

Usually, with optimisation work first.

Models built for rendering are typically far too heavy to load in an AR experience, so what gets delivered is a derivative asset rather than the same file. That is normal, and it is cheaper than modelling again from scratch.

A representative range that deliberately includes mid-range hardware.

A flagship phone on office wifi tells you very little about whether the experience works for your customers. Testing on what people actually carry is the only way to know whether the asset loads and behaves acceptably in the real world.

StaffCloud produces and delivers the assets and supports your team through the integration.

Building a viewer or an app is development work and sits with your developer. Saying so plainly lets you scope both halves properly rather than assuming one supplier covers the whole thing.

That depends entirely on your category and the platforms you sell through.

For some categories it works well today. For others the honest answer is that it does not yet, and StaffCloud would rather say so than sell you an asset set that disappoints in use. Where it is not ready, we will say what would need to change.
